Dec. 6, 2017: The entries below are selections from the Bronxville Police blotter.
Saturday, November 25, 6:18 pm, Parkway Road: A resident reported that she had received delivery of an Apple iPhone 7 valued at $700 on November 4, 2017, and that when she opened the package on November 24, 2017, the package was empty.
Sunday, November 26, 2:09 pm, Paddington Circle: A homeowner reported that her vehicle had been entered overnight and that a laptop computer valued at $1,600 had been stolen. The vehicle had been unlocked and the alarm was not activated.
Monday, November 27, 12:00 pm, Park Avenue: A female resident reported that fraudulent purchases totaling over $2,000 had been made on her credit card. The incident is being investigated.
Monday, November 27, 1:49 pm, Pondfield Road: A business owner reported that a phone scammer posing as a Con-Ed employee demanded $1,500 in same-day Green Dot money cards to avoid having the power to the establishment cut off.
Tuesday, November 28, 1:50 pm, Pondfield Road: A 911 caller reported a suspicious male carrying a “large duffel bag” that was “large enough to conceal a rifle.” Utilizing village surveillance cameras, police were able to locate, identify, and converse with the individual, who voluntarily showed officers that the contents of the bag were not a danger to public safety.
Wednesday, November 29, 8:40 am, White Plains Road: A 36-year-old male from Mount Vernon was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle with a Suspended Registration (misdemeanor). A vehicle-mounted license-plate reader alarm alerted Officer Paul Cavallo of the suspension. The man was also cited for Operating Without Insurance and Uninspected Vehicle. The man was processed on scene and released pending his next court appearance. The 2011 Hyundai he was operating was impounded.
Friday, December 1, 3:54 pm, Pondfield Road: A homeowner reported that a 1,000-pound boulder valued at $2,000 had been stolen from the homeowner's property. The incident is being investigated.
Sunday, December 3, 12:48 am, Pondfield Road West: A 23-year-old male from Yonkers was charged with Aggravated Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle in the 3rd Degree (misdemeanor) after he was stopped for Driving the Wrong Way in a One Way. The man was also cited for Backing Unsafely. The 2000 Honda Civic Castellanos he was operating was impounded. He was processed and released on scene pending his next court appearance.
Monday, December 4, 1:05 pm, Prescott Avenue: A homeowner reported that a package containing a $1,200 iPhone had been stolen from her property after UPS marked it delivered to her residence. The incident is being investigated.
