Bronxville Class of 2015 to Attend Impressive Array of Colleges; See List

By Carol P. Bartold
Editor's note: In past years, MyhometownBronxville has published the names of Bronxville High School graduates and the colleges they were to attend. This year, however, the school did not obtain permission from the graduates to release the names of the colleges they will be attending. Consequently, only the colleges, but not the students attending them, are reported.
Jul. 1, 2015: Graduates of the Bronxville High School Class of 2015 have reported that they will be headed to leading colleges and universities, small and large, in all parts of the United States, from east to west and north to south. A few will venture as far as Scotland and Canada to further their education.
The list of colleges includes the very best of all types of schools from large universities to small liberal arts colleges in every area of the country, from UCLA and the University of Wisconsin--Madison in the West, to Northwestern and Denison in the Midwest, to Georgetown and George Washington in D.C., to Johns Hopkins and Washington and Lee in the South, to NYU and Bowdoin in the East. Among the Ivy Leagues, Bronxville students will be attending Cornell University (1), Dartmouth College (3), Princeton University (2), University of Pennsylvania (1), and Yale University (1).
"We are quite proud of our seniors, who have followed a process of post-high school planning that begins in junior year," said Anne Abbatecola, director of counseling. Along with Abbatecola, high school counselors Jim Agnello, Ellen Cohen, and Barbara Dhyne helped guide students through the application process.
"I feel our students are looking for colleges and universities that provide for their academic interests, as well as for a good fit socially and geographically." She added that the graduates expanded their searches beyond "name brand" schools to find the options best suited for their interests and goals.
