Four Squash Players from Bronxville Competed at the College Squash Club Team Nationals

Feb. 19, 2025: Four college squash players traveled with their teams this past weekend to Philadelphia to compete in the 2025 College Squash Association National Club Team Championships - - Brooks Clifford (Georgetown University), Drew Doyle (Columbia University), Lainey Neild (Northwestern University), and Andrew Shah (University of Virginia). All of these players trained at the Bronxville Field Club.
A total of 56 teams (over 500 players) competed in the tournament - - a testament to the popularity and depth of college squash!
The Georgetown team, which includes Bronxville player and college sophomore Brooks Clifford, and the Columbia team, which includes Bronxville player and college sophomore Drew Doyle, competed in the Coed A Division of the tournament which included the eight top club squash programs in the nation.

The Columbia team prevailed over #3 University of Chicago in the first round and then defeated #2 seed University of California, Berkeley in the second round to progress to the finals. They ultimately finished an impressive #2 in the tournament, falling to Brown University in the finals.
The Georgetown team faced University of California, Berkeley in the first round, falling by a close 5-4. One of the deciding matches went to the fifth game with the Georgetown player losing by 2 points (12-10). The Georgetown team ultimately finished 7th, defeating University of Pennsylvania in their final match. Brooks Clifford went undefeated for the tournament.
The University of Virginia team, which includes Andrew Shah, competed in the Hawthorne Cup, where they finished #5, winning the consolation. Andrew played in the #1 position for the UVA team as a freshman, which is incredibly impressive. The UVA team defeated Washington University in St. Louis and George Washington University along the way.

Northwestern University, which includes senior Lainey Neild, played in Co-Ed Division D where they finished 7/8. Lainey played in the #2 position for the team. Northwestern defeated Johns Hopkins University along the way. It was a great finale to Neild's stellar college career.
