Pet of the Week: Bess

By Allison Roesser
Jan. 27, 2016: Meet Bess, the sweetest Jack Russell terrier ever! At two years old and thirteen pounds, Bess loves going for walks, socializing with other dogs, and playing with toys. She runs, she plays, she flies up the stairs like Supergirl--who needs four legs when three work perfectly well.
Bess came to Pet Rescue with an injured hip and leg. After her surgery, this resilient girl quickly became a tug-of-war champion. She can take on and beat the best of them.
Housebroken and crate trained, Bess is one smart girl. She loves going for rides in the car and has no trouble hopping up into your lap for a cuddle. She is a happy and proud pup, and nothing seems to bother her.
Bess is not overly vocal like many Jack Russell terriers. She will alert-bark when someone is at the door; otherwise, she is very quiet. She would do best in a home with older children because of her small size. Also, an owner who won't mind continuing her leg stretches would be ideal.
Bess is in excellent health, has been spayed, and is up to date with her vaccinations. If you would like more information about her, please fill out an application on the Pet Rescue website at www.NY-Petrescue.org.
Pet Rescue has many dogs and cats in need of homes. Even if you are not ready to adopt, please still consider filling out an application. The website is updated daily and some of the animals featured, especially the puppies, can be adopted quickly. Becoming pre-approved can help ensure that you have a better chance of being matched with your first-choice pet. Information on becoming a foster family is also available on the site.
Pet Rescue asks that all potential adopters fill out an adoption form prior to meeting with the dogs and cats in their care. To expedite the process, please note that you learned about Bess through MyhometownBronxville.
