Pet of the Week: Ozzy

By Allison Roesser
Dec. 7, 2016: Hey everyone, I'm Ozzy. I know I am cute, but there is so much more to me than good looks. I am smart and loving and will most definitely make someone a great companion.
When I think about life, what comes to mind first is squeaky toys. I just absolutely adore them and if given the choice, I would carry one around with me all the time (even when running my daily laps around the shelter).
Okay, just between us, I am going to admit it; I'm a tiny bit spoiled. I enjoy going for walks, but when I get tired or cold, I really appreciate being picked up and carried like the royal gentleman that I am. Thankfully, I only weigh a few pounds, so I will not be much of a burden to you. Oh, and of course I have excellent personal hygiene and know how to do my business outside.
I used to be very independent and was found wandering the big streets all by myself. Now I am a little bit nervous when I first meet people; however, if they are nice to me, I quickly start to love them. Once I know you, I won't be able to help making you my snuggle buddy. Kisses and cuddles rock my world!
And even more great news, I just became available for adoption this week. I am hoping to find a new home for the holidays, so please come and meet me today at the Humane Society of Westchester. I am only ten minutes away from Bronxville at 70 Portman Road in New Rochelle. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you would like more information about how to adopt me, please contact the shelter at
