Our Gardener in the know tells us it's all about having 3 interests: THRILLERS, CHILLERS AND SPILLERS!
Thrillers are TALL. Chillers are low and full and Spillers are anything that hangs over the edge!
HE ALSO SAYS DON'T BE AFRAID OF USING PERENNIALS IN CONTAINERS! (their foliage is perfect!) and SUPER IMPORTANT TO FERTILIZE ONCE A WEEK!
How about vegetables?
Not only does a vegetable garden give you a great sense of satisfaction, it is great for kids to see how fresh food grows. They might even try eating a vegetable. If you don't have the patience to research and plant seeds (we don't either), head over to Nature's Cradle and ask for Raffi. He will even come to your home and suggest what would grow best with your soil and light. If you don't have room for a garden or only want to grow a few vegetables, containers are a great way to go. Almost any vegetable can grow in a container and with the proper care, they can produce an abundance. Nature's Cradle has great planters for this as well (They will even do the whole thing for you so you simply water and watch it grow! Shhh. Home Depot and Stew Leonard's are also great resources for all things garden and they are still very well stocked. Whatever they don't have they will order for you. They have so many styles of fiberglass pots and containers that last forever and look like real stone.
