Feb. 5, 2014: Vartkes (Bill) Pasagian died on Saturday, January 25, 2014, at the age of 81. He is survived by his loving wife, Marie Pasagian of Bronxville; his children, Drs. William and Araxi Macaulay of Bronxville, William and Izabel McDonald, Esqs., of Scarsdale, and Col. Arthur J. (United States Marine Corps) and Jessica Pasagian, CNMT, of Quantico, VA; and his grandchildren, William, Corinne, Zoe, Eliza, Isabelle, and Estelle.
Born in Thessaloniki, Greece, the son of Arthur and Araxi Pasagian and brother of Michael and Vartouhi, he survived World War II and became a textile merchant.
In 1963, he married Marie Bendenidis in Thessaloniki, and they had three children, Araxi, Izabel, and Arthur. He moved with his family to Brooklyn, New York, in 1971, and he worked at AMEX Fabrics in downtown Manhattan for 32 years.
He loved to spend time with his family and friends and to travel.
