Mar. 30, 2016: Lucile Johnson Pickwick, 98, died on February 10, 2016, at her home in Glenmoor, a senior residence in St. Augustine, Florida. She was predeceased by her husband, George S. Pickwick, a New York trial lawyer and former Bronxville village justice.
Lucile attended Villa Brillantmont School in Lausanne, Switzerland, and was a graduate of Wellesley College, class of 1938, where she was president of her senior class.
She was employed by The Research Institute of America in New York City as an editor in the evolving Social Security legislation and in payroll coordination.
Mrs. Pickwick was a longtime resident of Bronxville, where, upon her retirement, she engaged in many community activities. Among them, Lucile served as president of the Junior League of Bronxville; and served on various committees at the Bronxville Field Club.
She and her husband were recognized for their efforts with an honorary lifetime membership in the Bronxville Field Club.
She is survived by five nieces and a nephew: Maureen J. Rich of Franklin, Michigan; Brette Johnson of Oakland, California; Alexandra Johnson of Los Angeles, California; Celinda Johnson of Tucson, Arizona; Mary J. Fletcher of Pittsford, New York; and William J. Johnson Jr., of Washington, DC.
