Pet of the Week: Cooper
August 17, 2011: Cooper is a 6-year-old dog who was found as a stray wandering the streets of Yonkers. He appears to be mostly a Jack Russell terrier but may have a little corgi mixed in, given his short stature.
Cooper is a very friendly pup who would make a great dog for someone living in an apartment. Of course, if you happen to have a backyard, he would be very pleased with that as well.
He is an easygoing little guy, weighing in at less than 20 pounds. Cooper gets along well with the staff, volunteers, and other dogs at the shelter, but he does not seem very fond of the cats he has encountered so far.
Why not take an hour out of your day and go meet Cooper at the Yonkers Animal Shelter. Who knows--you may just find your new best friend.
The shelter is open 7 days a week from 11:00 am to 3:30 pm on weekdays and noon to 3:30 pm on weekends and holidays and is located at 120 Fullerton Ave, Yonkers; 914-377-6730.
The adoption fee for Cooper is $80. This fee includes a free vet visit, a NY State license for 1 year, rabies and distemper shots, and neutering.
