Sep. 30, 2015: Hello, my name is Floyd. I am a young pup who just arrived at the New Rochelle Humane Society from an overcrowded shelter. I cannot say enough good things about my new digs. It sure is nice to have some space to move around.
Yes, I am a husky. I love to run around in the snow, and, yes, I've already heard all the sled jokes (and I still laugh at them).
As far as my personality, I'm not one of those silly dogs who runs around wagging his tail at every stranger. I like to take a little time to get to know someone first. It's not that I'm a snob, it's just that I'm a husky, and that's how we roll. Once I know that someone is cool, I'm a total cuddle machine. I'm big into deep, lasting relationships and am interested in adopting a family that is looking for the same thing.
As for my personal hygiene, don't worry, I am a very smart guy, so I am extremely clean and totally housebroken. I am also in excellent health and up to date with all that vet stuff. If you pick me, I will promise to be totally loyal and love you forever.
Please come down and visit me today at the New Rochelle Humane Society at 70 Portman Road in New Rochelle. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you have any questions, you can call the shelter at 914-632-2925 or visit its website at www.NewRochelleHumaneSociety.org.
