Sep. 4, 2019: Who's looking for a mini pony? My name is Armani and I am a one-year-old, 101-pound Great Pyrenees. Yep, you heard that right ... I am already over 100 pounds and I haven't even started filling out yet. That means I will probably be in the 125- to 130-pound range as a full-grown adult.
I know my size isn't for everyone, but I promise I am a gentle giant and my foster mom says pretty darn close to perfect. I am housebroken, crate trained, and very well mannered.
I came from Oklahoma where I lived in a foster home for three months with ten dogs (of all sizes) and a baby. There were also two cats in the house.
I am actually quite playful for a Pyrenees of my size and will happily entertain myself and play with my toys for hours on end.
I just arrived in Connecticut a few weeks ago and am now in a new foster home with a fourteen-year-old girl who has been working with me on my basic training. I already know how to sit, come when I am called, and go to my crate when I am told to do so.
You will never see that stubborn streak in me that most Pyrs have; I am accommodating and a people pleaser and my foster mom says I am the happiest and sweetest dog she has ever met.
My ideal forever home must include a physical fence where I can sit outside and survey my surroundings and a doggie sibling whom I can run and play with off leash. Someone who has experience with my breed may be good, too, but is definitely not a requirement. I also wouldn't mind some kids who could play ball with me, but maybe not toddlers just because of my size (I sometimes don't realize I am stepping on toes). And, of course, I would like lots of love and attention from everyone in my new family.
I am healthy, neutered, up to date on all my vaccinations, and currently in a foster home in Connecticut. My bags are packed and I am ready for my forever home, so, if you are interested in meeting or adopting me, please email This email address is being protected from spambots.
