PTA Donates Proceeds of Family Fun Day to Jr. League Programs
Mar. 26, 2014: The Bronxville School PTA once again donated cash and non-perishable food collected at its Family Fun Day to local programs run by The Junior League of Bronxville.
This year, the PTA donated the $2,328 raised at the March 8 event to the Junior League's Kids in the Kitchen program at Westhab, which promotes childhood health and wellness. Pantry items went to St. Peter's Child Care Center of Yonkers, where Junior League members hand out food and run an enrichment program for children.
"The Junior League contacted us about supporting their programs again in 2014, and since they were local programs helping local children, we thought it would be a good match," said Family Fun Day co-chair Jane Scotti, who organized the event with co-chairs Jennifer Duffy and Mary Preusse. "Our children were happy to collect spare change and dollars for other students in the community who are less fortunate than they are."
Elementary school students publicized the event and distributed cups that kids used to collect coins and bills to donate at Family Fun Day. Then they had some fun. Children and parents filled the gym, the cafeteria, and the hallway the entire two hours. Volunteers from the middle school ran the carnival games. High schoolers handed out free cotton candy and popcorn and helped with arts and crafts. The kids also got to enjoy bouncy castles, video games, spin art, and face painting.
The PTA has donated money raised at Family Fun Day events to Junior League programs for the past five years. Last year, the donations went to a Junior League program called Smart Snacks.
"The Junior League of Bronxville is so grateful for the continued partnership of the Bronxville PTA,” said Junior League President Amy Korb. "Through their generous support, we are able to teach children in need at our Kids in the Kitchen at Westhab program the importance of eating healthy food and involve them in the fight against childhood obesity, not to mention all the shelf-stable food we received, literally a carload of food! The preschool director at our Enrich Me! Program at St. Peter's in Yonkers was so thrilled and thankful to receive this donation for their families."

Organized in 1982, the Bronxville Beautification Council (BBC) is a not-for-profit organization administered by a volunteer Board of Directors. Boulder Ledge Garden Club
Founded in 1966, the Boulder Ledge Garden Club is rooted in a mission to inspire a deeper appreciation and love for gardening and flower arranging. The club is dedicated to fostering and promoting interest and knowledge in gardening.
The Club maintains Bronxville’s Bicentennial Park and other civic gardens. In 2019–2020 the club raised $18,000 to replace trees in the village, reflecting its active role in community beautification. It also holds garden therapy projects and educational garden trips for members.

Bronxville Giving Garden
The Bronxville Giving Garden is a community-centered garden that donates organic produce to Eastchester Community Action Partnership in Tuckahoe and Community Service Associates in Mount Vernon. The garden is also a gathering place where school children and volunteers can discover the joy of tending plants and growing food.

The Bronxville Green Committee is a volunteer organization that is part of the Village of Bronxville. It proposes and implements environmentally sustainable programs in our community.
