Children's Brain Tumor Project, Founded by Elizabeth Minter, to Hold Charity Road Race September 13 at Bronxville School

Aug. 27, 2014:  A new charity road race, The Bronxville Road Race for the Children's Brain Tumor Project, will take place on Saturday, September13, at The Bronxville School.

The proceeds from the event will benefit pediatric brain tumor research at Weill Cornell Brain and Spine Center at New York-Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City.

The Children’s Brain Tumor Project (CBTP) focuses on the research and treatment of rare and inoperable brain tumors that affect children and young adults.

The CBTP was founded, in part, with the generous support of Elizabeth Minter (Bronxville High School Class of 2009) and her family, longtime residents of Bronxville. Elizabeth was diagnosed with gliomatosis cerebri in 2010 and lost her battle with the disease in 2012.

Entry fees for the race are $35 per person for the 5-mile and 2.2-mile races and $10 per child for the 1-mile race. Fees will increase closer to the race, according to organizers.

Additionally, runners are encouraged to raise a minimum of $250 each from friends and sponsors to help reach the goal of $100,000 for this event.
