By Melinda Burge, Executive Director, The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe

Dec. 9, 2015:  The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, Inc., is currently accepting 2016 grant applications from qualified applicants.

Comprising local volunteers, The Community Fund provides financial assistance and administrative support to nonprofit organizations serving the health, education, and welfare needs of residents in the villages of Bronxville and Tuckahoe, the town of Eastchester, and the areas located in the 10708 zip code.

"We take seriously our fiduciary responsibility to our donors," noted Melinda Burge, executive director of the fund. Burge went onto say, "Through our evaluation process, each agency and grant application is thoroughly reviewed by local volunteers helping us to determine the appropriate level of financial support and guidance required to ensure that needed services are available to local residents."

Applications must be received by Friday, January 15, 2016, for consideration.

Nonprofit organizations that qualify are invited to apply. Funding is determined based on a number of factors including community needs, distribution of existing services, impact on the community, population served, quality of administration/service, collaboration, and financial condition.

Heading up agency evaluations for this year are Community Fund board members Andrea Bates and Jim Rotenberg.
