Pete and his family have lived in the Bronxville area for over 21 years and in the Village for the last 10. Like many, he made the commitment to live and raise his children in Bronxville on account of the first-rate K-12 education offered by our School.
He is running for the Board as an extremely grateful parent of three children (Peter, Jr ’21, Michaela ’23, and Matthew ’25) who have benefitted from the excellent instruction, nurturing, and care of our School and its dedicated professionals. He is committed to working with all in our community to assure that the School continues to thrive as the cornerstone of our community now and into the future.
Pete has served on many committees for the Bronxville School during his time on the Board, including the Audit, Finance, and Policy Committees. He has also served as the PTA and Sports Committee liason.
Following his graduation from the University of Virginia, where in addition to the classroom he competed at the highest collegiate level as a member of the Lacrosse Team, Pete returned to New York and embarked on a distinguished career in the financial industry specializing in institutional fixed income products.
Those who know Pete know his commitment to the community as demonstrated by his dedicated and tireless volunteering. Pete is currently a member of the Board of the Bronxville Youth Lacrosse Association and has coached Bronxville boys and girls for well over 10 years. Pete is also a member of the Board of the Bronxville Bronco Booster Club – having been one of its founding members in an effort to support the athletic endeavors of Bronxville children generally.
As a former board member of the St. Joseph’s Men’s Club, Pete volunteered his time to help in the community in various endeavors. He also gave his time coaching youth basketball for over 10 years.
Pete McSherry is running for the School Board to continue to give back to the community he is proud to call his home. Maintaining the excellence of our School is crucially important to all the members of our Village, none more so than the children. It is also a challenge.
Pete firmly believes that the people of Bronxville are invariably of good faith and through transparent and candid discussion of any issue can foster reasonable consensus by which to best assure our children are best prepared for life beyond our Village.

Sarah Sepe
Sarah Sepe
Sarah and her family moved to Bronxville three years ago. She and her husband Anthony, like so many others, chose Bronxville for its excellent school, charming downtown, and a desire for a sense of community where their two children, Blythe and Charlie, could thrive. Blythe is currently a second grader in the Elementary School and Charlie will be entering Kindergarten next year.
Sarah has served as a class parent in the Elementary School for the past 2 years, volunteering in the classroom and chaperoning field trips. She can often be found on the playground and on the sidelines of high school sporting events cheering on the Broncos.
Sarah and Anthony are active parishioners at St. Joseph's Church. Sarah is a member of the Mother's Club and Anthony is a member of the Men's Club and coaches Blythe's CYO basketball team.
With young children in the Elementary School, Sarah is heavily invested in the continued long-term excellence of the School. She recognizes that the coming years present opportunities as the District embarks on the capital project and navigates rapid advancements in technology.
Sarah understands the needs and concerns of new families and would encourage more transparency in communications to this new generation of parents. While newer to the community, Sarah appreciates the wonderful traditions which remind her of the close-knit community she grew up in outside of Philadelphia.
She is the daughter of a former teacher and school administrator and sister of a special education teacher, which has provided her with a unique understanding of the challenges and pressures that come with those roles. She has a deep respect for educators and wants to continue the tradition of recruiting, supporting, and maintaining fantastic teachers.
Sarah is an attorney at Clyde & Co LLP specializing in insurance coverage for directors’ and officers’, employment practices, professional, and commercial general liability matters. Her work in contract interpretation, negotiation, and liability and risk assessment will provide valuable insight and resources for the broad range of matters presented to the Board.
Sarah is often faced with balancing competing interests and is skilled at finding consensus, common ground, and solutions to complex issues. She is a member of her firm's Women's Initiative and Chair of the Parent & Carer Network which supports working parents and caregivers and works with firm leadership to address the needs of the parent and carer community. This experience will help guide her in working to support our working families.
Sarah and Anthony have appreciated and taken advantage of the expanded BASC program and have been thrilled to see the Funball Camp offerings during school breaks. Expanding these types of resources for our families is an area Sarah views as an opportunity for further growth and potential.
Sarah is a graduate of Lafayette College and Brooklyn Law School. She is excited about the opportunity to give back to this wonderful community by serving on the Board of Education.
Matthew Zloto
Matthew Zlota
Matt and his wife Jen moved to Bronxville in 2022 with their three children—Blair, Blythe, and Blake—drawn by the community's excellent schools, strong community spirit, and unique walkability close to Manhattan.
As active members of the Bronxville community, they have participated in the Field Club and youth sports, including lacrosse, volleyball, field hockey, basketball, baseball, and flag football. Jen has also contributed significantly as a class parent for both first and second grade and served as Cookie Chair for the Bronxville Junior Girl Scout troop.
With three children enrolled in Bronxville schools, spanning elementary to middle school next year, Matt is deeply committed to ensuring our schools continue to educate, enrich, and engage our kids. While honoring the methods and knowledge that have served Bronxville well for decades, he advocates for equipping our children with new tools essential for their college and professional lives beyond Bronxville.
Professionally, Matt serves as Co-President of CreditSights, a research, news, and data company within the global corporate credit markets. Previously he worked at several investment firms and began his career at JPMorgan working in investment banking. Over the past three years, his firm has been acquired by Fitch and integrated three other companies, emphasizing technological advancement. Through these transitions, he facilitated effective communication among all key stakeholders. He ensured all voices were heard, weighing diverse opinions, and decisively communicating the company’s strategic direction.
Matt sees an opportunity to apply his professional experience as a Trustee for the Bronxville School Board. More robust communication among Parents, Teachers, and Students is needed as we navigate today's rapidly changing world. Students face new challenges, especially in the area of technological advancement.
He is eager to leverage his professional background to support these areas of need. Establishing best practices for communication and improving student preparedness for tomorrow are key issues he would focus on during his time on the Board.
Matt’s experience in stakeholder communication during periods of change, coupled with his vested interest as a parent in the Bronxville school system, positions him as an excellent candidate for Trustee. He is passionate about ensuring the Bronxville school system remains exemplary and continues to evolve.
He looks forward to discussing his background and ideas with members of the community, in order to maintain Bronxville's status as one of the preeminent school systems in the United States.
What Else is on the Ballot?
Proposition 1: Vote Yes or No
The 2025-2026 SCHOOL BUDGET is in the amount of $55,205,497. You can review the budget here.
Proposition 2: Vote Yes or No
2025 CAPITAL PROJECT at a cost not to exceed $20M, with $5M to be expended from the “Capital Reserve Fund 2011”
In the April Board of Education meeting, Dan Carlin, Assistant Superintendent for Business, provided an overview of this capital project.
Carlin said that the largest identified need is the repair of deteriorating masonry in the 80+-year-old "D" wing, which houses the Elementary School.
Additionally, the windows in this wing are in poor condition and should be replaced in conjunction with the brick and steel repair and replacement work.
Other priority projects include:
(1) Replacement of 12-unit ventilators serving elementary classrooms. These units are over 60 years old.
(2) New flooring in the D wing and other high-priority areas.
(3) Ceiling and Wall improvements. Much of the ceiling in the D wing hasn't been updated since it was installed in the 1960s.
(4) Casework (built-in storage) improvements in the D wing. New casework will be installed in all 24 classrooms.
(5) Toilet room improvements.
(6) Boys Locker Room: remove two shower stalls and install one toilet.
(7) Replace two sets of fire doors at the 4th-floor corridor.
(8) Modernize the main elevator.
(9) Replace and widen sidewalks at portions of Midland Avenue, Meadow Avenue, and the front lawn.
These projects will be funded by (1) $5 million from the School's construction reserve and (2) $15 million from a bond issue.

Bronxville has four pre-schools, one public school (The Bronxville School K – 12), one Catholic school (St. Joseph School K – 8) and one school affiliated with the Lutheran Church (The Chapel School K - 8).
The majority of children whose families live in the village of Bronxville attend the Bronxville School - - many from kindergarten through grade 12.
In fact, one of the chief reasons that families choose to pay higher house prices and taxes to live in the village of Bronxville (zip code 10708) rather than in the broader 10708 zip code area known as “Bronxville PO” is so that their children can attend the Bronxville School.
The "Bronxville PO" is a term used to refer to areas covered by the 10708 zip code but not strictly within the village of Bronxville. The Bronxville PO include parts of Bronxville and other nearby areas such as Chester Heights, Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa, and some bordering parts of Tuckahoe and Yonkers.
Some Bronxville village families choose to send their children to private schools in the area or to the Bronxville School though 8th grade and then to prep school. But, by and large, this group is still in the minority.
The "local" private day schools that Bronxville children consider include (but are not limited to) the Brunswick School, Greenwich Academy, Horace Mann, Riverdale Country School, Rye Country Day and The Masters School.
Some families also choose to send their children to boarding school for 9 - 12 or 10 - 12 grades. Popular schools include Exeter, Andover, Hotchkiss, St. Paul's, Salisbury, Taft and Choate.
Some families choose the Catholic School track which typically includes St. Joseph School (K – 8) and then onto other Catholic schools for high school. Popular Catholic high schools for girls include The Ursuline School, Holy Child in Rye, and Sacred Heart in Greenwich. Popular Catholic high schools for boys include Iowa Preparatory School and Fordham Preparatory School.
Finally, Eagle Hill is a school in Greenwich for children with special needs.

Be Brilliant! Tutoring (BB!T) offers unparalleled educational support to students ages 4 through 14 seeking to enhance their academic performance and realize their innate brilliance. BB!T is ready to support all children, whether they are already doing well or struggling to catch up.
BB!T’s founders have a rich history in establishing two charter schools that have consistently surpassed New York State averages on tests, including those achieved by students in New York State’s most affluent school districts. But at BB!T, we go beyond test scores and good grades. Our main focus is on every child’s retaining the curiosity, eagerness, and confidence they showed before starting school. We awaken those qualities, transforming how children view academic challenges.
Unlike typical tutoring services, BB!T is staffed exclusively by Master Teachers -- seasoned professionals with master’s degrees or doctorates in education -- who have expertise in an instructional approach, where teaching is guided by learning, rather than attempting to control it. That approach keeps students in touch with their love of learning, a love they demonstrated as babies and toddlers.
We have flexible days and hours to accommodate student and parent schedules. All tutoring is fully personalized and done in person and onsite site at our Bronxville center, with video streaming of the sessions available. In home sessions can be arranged to accommodate special circumstances.
Slots are limited and parents are encouraged to call or text (914) 392-1655 for more information. The website with additional details is www.BeBrilliantTutoring.com.
The word “Bespoke” means “customized and made to individual order.” Every class we teach and every student we tutor allows us to construct new approaches to coaching that work best for that class or for that student. Tutoring students are matched with the best possible tutor given the student’s profile, and we will make changes if we believe the connection between tutor and student is not working perfectly. Our instruction is, in a word, bespoke.
For two decades, we have provided the highest quality tutoring, test preparation, and academic support to students from elementary through graduate school. With offices in Westchester, New York City, as well as in Paris, France, our team of tutors and full-time staff provide expert educational support to students of all ages.
