Feb. 16, 2026: Five talented Bronxville School students have earned recognition in the prestigious 2026 Scholastic Art & Writing Regional Awards:
-Senior Emma Yeon was twice selected as an American Voices Nominee for two of her entries: a poem, "The Craters," and her personal essay & memoir, "The Unicorn." Emma earned Gold Keys for both works and won a Silver Key for her poem, "The Proof."
-Senior Katherine Fezza earned Honorable Mention for her digital painting, drawing & collage, "Ignorance is Bliss."
-Sophomore Elizabeth Pressly earned Gold for her drawing, "Colors of the Spine," and Honorable Mention for her drawing, "Ama's Garden."
-Freshman Madeleine Borducci earned a Gold Key for her short story, "The Aftermath."
-Freshman Cathy Kuang earned a Gold Key for her short story, "Manfred's Dream," and a Silver Key for her novel, "Ventose." She also earned Gold for her comic art, "Before the Fire Started (Part No. 2)" and Honorable Mention for her comic art, "Before the Fire Started (Part No. 1)."
A panel of professional novelists, editors, teachers, poets, librarians, journalists, and other literary professionals selected the literary works from 2,586 works submitted this year.
Of these compositions, a total of 4 American Voice Nominees were selected for being the strongest works, 103 Gold Keys were awarded to the most accomplished works, and 212 Silver Keys were awarded to distinguished works. More than 7,500 art pieces were submitted in the region.
Bronxville art students completed some of their work in Ms. Courtney Alan’s classes, Art II and AP Art & Design.
