Apr. 29, 2020: As Westchester County schools and libraries remain closed and shelter in place continues to be the new normal in Westchester County, Concordia Conservatory, part of Concordia College New York, continues to keep music in the lives of the community.
The Musical Adventures at the Libraries program made possible by a grant from The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe is an annual program which brings Conservatory faculty into the Bronxville, Eastchester and Tuckahoe Public Libraries and School Districts to enhance the learning experience with music and books.
In celebration of National Poetry Month, on Friday April 24, Concordia Conservatory presented the Musical Adventures program “virtually” via video. The video features three books by Nobel Prize Laureate Bob Dylan: “Forever Young”, “If Dogs Run Free” and “If Not for You” performed by Conservatory faculty Matt Van Brink, storyteller and Lee Metcalf, guitar.

Executive Director Kathleen Suss said: “Now more than ever, it’s important to keep structure and also enjoyment in students’ lives.” The Conservatory is committed to continuing distant learning for as long as is necessary, providing one-on-one and group lessons via online platforms since early March.
Concordia Conservatory is a preeminent center for music education in Westchester and Fairfield Counties. The Conservatory is a welcoming community where children and adults find lifelong inspiration and joy through learning, performing, listening to, and participating with others in music. www.concordiaconservatory.org
