Bronxville Native Andrew Childs Running for Boston Marathon Victim

Mar. 19, 2014: Raymond (Andrew) Childs, Bronxville High School class of '95, is among those selected to represent the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation in the 2014 Boston Marathon as a member of Team MR8.
Martin Richard was an eight-year-old boy killed in the Boston Marathon bombings on April 15, 2013. The Richard family established the Martin W. Richard Charitable Foundation (Team MR8), a Massachusetts nonprofit corporation, to honor Martin's message of peace by investing in education, athletics, and community.
"I am honored to have the opportunity to represent the foundation in the 118th Boston Marathon as a member of Team MR8," said Andrew Childs. "As a father, I cannot begin to imagine what the Richard family has gone through. Their strength in turning something so tragic into a means to help others is truly inspiring."
Each runner is provided with a personal fundraising page, powered by FirstGiving. Mr. Childs's fundraising page can be found here: http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/raymondchilds/team-mr8-boston-marathon-2014.
"With the help of others, we can honor Martin's legacy, spread his message of peace, and help the foundation fulfill its mission," Mr. Childs added.
Both Mr. Childs and his wife, Erin (Baldwin) Childs ('97), are graduates of Bronxville High School. They currently live in Hingham, MA, with their two daughters, Morgan (5) and Riley (2). Mr. Childs is president and founder of Able Capital Management, and his wife is the catering director for a Boston-based restaurant group.
