Bronxville Police Blotter: May 24 to May 28, 2014

Saturday, May 24: At 7:07 am at 1 Depot Plaza, Bronxville Taxi reported that 62-year-old Jorge Alvarez of White Plains was involved in a taxi fare dispute with a cab driver and was causing a disturbance. Officers responded and discovered that Alvarez had an active bench warrant signed by a Bedford judge for criminal trespass in the 3rd degree. Alvarez was arrested on the warrant, and Bedford police officers responded to Bronxville police headquarters to take Alvarez into their custody.
Saturday, May 24: At 7:51 am at 25 Pondfield Road, it was reported that sometime overnight an unknown person sealed the front door lock cylinder of the Gramatan Barber Shop with crazy glue. Police officer Ulrich was able to assist in opening the door by dipping the key into nail polish remover, thus freeing the cylinder for operation.
Wednesday, May 28: At 11:21 am on Palumbo Avenue, 57-year-old Danilo Beltran of Mount Vernon was arrested by Police Officer Brenton Dorre after the officer's vehicle-equipped license plate reader alerted him that the registration on the 2013 Lexus that Beltran was operating was suspended effective 03/24/2014 due to insurance not in effect. An inquiry on Beltran's NYS driver's license revealed that it was also suspended effective 04/24/2014 due to insurance not in effect. Beltran's vehicle was impounded. He was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation in the 3rd degree and operating a vehicle with a suspended registration (both misdemeanors) and ordered to appear in Bronxville Justice Court on June 18, 2014.
