Letter to the Editor: Bill Primps on Recent Village Campaign

To the Editor:
Apr. 18, 2018: I write to explain one issue that has come up concerning last month's judicial election in Bronxville. As shown in a letter to last week's MHTB, the leader of the local Republican Party sent a fundraising appeal, purportedly on my behalf, contained in an email sent during the final hours of Election Day to certain members of the local party. I was not aware that this document had been drafted or sent on my behalf.
As detailed in the recent filing made at village hall by my campaign committee, I received three donations due to this email. All three were promptly returned to their senders. I shall of course recuse myself from any future judicial matter that might ensue regarding the three families that attempted to send my campaign a donation.
I hope this clarifies a situation that has been referred to in several letters and posts at this site.
With respect,
William Primps
Village Justice
