Mar. 6, 2019: The following entries are from the Bronxville police blotter.
February 18, 2019, 5:03 pm, Pondfield Road: Police assisted with a verbal dispute between a repossession agent and a vehicle owner. The dispute was resolved, and the vehicle was taken into possession by the repossession agency.
February 19, 2019, 9:52 am, Pondfield Road: A 50-year-old man of Jersey City, NJ, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree after he was stopped for failing to use his turn signal. A license inquiry revealed that his license was suspended for failing to answer a summons. The 1999 Toyota Corolla operated by the man was impounded. The man was processed on scene and released pending his next court appearance.
February 19, 2019, 2:15 pm, Prescott Avenue: Police responded to a 911 call indicating that two flagmen working in the roadway had a physical altercation. One of the flagmen sustained an injury to his neck. The second, a 51-year-old man of New Rochelle, was charged with assault in the second degree (D felony) and criminal possession of a weapon in the third degree (D felony). The man was arraigned by Judge George Mayer and remanded to Westchester County Jail pending his next court appearance.
February 20, 2019, 12:42 am, Pondfield Road: NYPD advised that they had a man in custody. The man had an active Bronxville Justice Court warrant for failing to appear on May 16, 2018, to face charges of criminal possession of a weapon, trespass, and possession of marijuana. The man was transported from Bronx Central Booking to Bronxville Police headquarters by Bronxville police. He was processed and then arraigned by Judge George Mayer and transported to Westchester County Jail after failing to post $5,000 bail.
February 20, 2019, 7:42 am, Sagamore Road: A 24-year-old man of Bronxville was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle in the third degree after he was stopped for failing to stop at a red light and a license inquiry revealed that his driving privileges were suspended. The 2004 Jeep Cherokee he was operating was impounded. The man was processed on scene and released pending his next court appearance.
February 26, 2019, 12:26 pm, Pondfield Road, CVS Store: A 20-year-old man of Brooklyn was charged with petit larceny after he was observed stealing $244.29 of miscellaneous over-the-counter medications. The man was processed and released on $200 desk bail pending his next court appearance.
February 26, 2019, 1:42 pm, Pondfield Road: A customer found a lost wallet in an ACME shopping cart. The wallet was turned over to police and the owner was contacted.
February 26, 2019, 3:41 pm, Pondfield Road: A large truck cab and trailer crossed over hazardous pavement markings and jumped the curbing, demolishing and dragging one overhead traffic signal, three electronic crossing signals, and all of the electrical wires at the corner of Gramatan Avenue and Pondfield Road, causing a power outage and continuing to drive eastbound on Pondfield Road. The driver was transported to police headquarters, where he was cited for leaving the scene of a property damage accident, driving across hazardous markings, disobeying a traffic control device, unsafe backing, no warning light in the cab of the tractor-trailer, unregistered motor vehicle, and failing to use four-way flashers on the roadway. He was also issued Bronxville appearance tickets for damage to village property and no through trucking. He was released with his appearance tickets pending his court date on March 14 at 9:00 am.
February 27, 2019, 8:40 am, Ridgecroft Road: A caller reported a suspicious person looking into various yards. Police canvassed the area and were unable to locate the subject.
