Sarah Lawrence President Cristle Collins Judd to Speak about Challenges Facing Higher Education Tuesday, October 23

Oct. 17, 2018: Cristle Collins Judd, president of Sarah Lawrence College, will give a presentation titled "The State of the College and the Landscape of Higher Education" on Tuesday, October 23, at 7:00 pm in the Pillow Room of the Esther Raushenbush Library.
President Judd’s presentation will be the first event this fall sponsored by the Friends of Sarah Lawrence College. The Friends connects the nearby community to the college, providing opportunities for cultural and intellectual engagement. President Judd’s talk will focus on the challenges facing higher education today and some of the creative ways to address these issues. She will highlight Sarah Lawrence’s history of innovation in both undergraduate and graduate education with an overview of the campus today and thoughts about the future.
A graduate of Rice University, Judd earned her MM and PhD from King’s College, University of London. Prior to Sarah Lawrence, she served as a senior program officer for higher education and scholarship in the humanities at the Mellon Foundation. She was dean for academic affairs and professor of music at Bowdoin College and an award-winning professor of music at the University of Pennsylvania.
