The Picture House Announces New Season of its Film Club

By Andrea Pace, The Picture House

Jan. 25, 2023: The Picture House Regional Film Center (www.thepicturehouse.org) announced today that a second season of TPH Film Club Bronxville will begin on January 24, 2023. TPH Film Club brings subscribers together once a week for six weeks to screen an upcoming film in advance of its release.

Following the film, there is often a Q&A with someone involved in the film’s production, giving the audience an opportunity to get behind the scenes insight into the movie they’ve watched. Film Club is hosted by Stephen Whitty, critic at The Star Ledger.

The Picture House Film Club expanded to Bronxville in the fall of 2022, with its inaugural season starting on November 1. In January, TPH Film Club Bronville returns in the newly refurbished Theater One.

Picture House Director of Programming, Clayton Bushong, said “TPH Film Club is at the heart of our organization’s mission. It brings some of the best new movies to an audience of enthusiastic film lovers, enriching their experience of the film by bringing in special guests.

Film Club subscribers learn about the making of the films they watch from the perspective of directors, producers, screenwriters, and actors. We’ve always been proud of the program’s popularity at our Pelham location, and it’s exciting to expand it to The Picture House Bronxville. It’s a program that helps build and strengthen the TPH community, so we’re looking forward to seeing it grow in Bronxville.”

Subscriptions to TPH Film Club are a benefit of Picture House membership. The learn more visit www.thepicturehouse.org/join-give/.

Bronxville Public Library
Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
