Pet of the Week: Jack

Nov. 27, 2013: Those big soulful eyes will just melt your heart. Jack is a beautiful one-and-a-half-year-old tabby with a stunning red-and-white coat.
Tabbies are known as "dogs among cats" because of their canine-like personalities. Jack fits this profile perfectly. He is an easygoing fellow with a mellow but playful personality. Contrary to the aloofness of many cats, Jack is extremely open, affectionate, and friendly.
He has a heart of gold and loves people. He craves affection, so much so that he has been known to climb into the arms of those taking care of him. He will sit in your embrace for as long as you will let him, happily purring away. He will let you rub his belly, and, as you do, he will look into your eyes and "meow" as if to say "thank you" or "I love you."
Jack also likes to have fun. He is playful and enjoys running around, chasing after his favorite toys. Jack is a perfect companion; he is never happier than when he is sitting in your lap as the two of you relax together.
As much as Jack enjoys being with people, he does not require constant attention. He is truly content just lounging around, watching the squirrels and birds from a perch in front of the window. He can spend hours alternating between naps and watching potential prey outside his window that he will never catch.
Jack loves to hang around with his humans. He will naturally attach himself to the person who performs his day-to-day routine, especially his feeding. Because Jack is so affectionate, gentle, and easygoing, he would make a wonderful family pet or companion.
Jack is neutered, in excellent health, and up to date with all vaccinations. The adoption donation for Jack is $75. To meet this special cat, contact Larchmont Pet Rescue at 914-834-6955 or visit www.NY-PetRescue.org.
