Pet of the Week: Buddy
Written by Allison Roesser

Dec. 17, 2014: Buddy is a well-behaved, mellow eight-year-old beagle with a face that's sure to warm your heart.
Two weeks ago, Buddy ended up at the Animal Care & Control of NYC after his lifetime owner passed away. He is an affectionate and easygoing guy who seems to get along with everyone and everything that crosses his path. His gentle demeanor brings a smile to all who meet him.
According to a volunteer at the shelter, she first saw Buddy when he was asleep in his kennel with his little head resting on his front paws. Buddy allowed her to lift him up and take him outside for a walk. He walked beautifully on a leash and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying the evening snowfall. In fact, the cold New York weather even seemed to lift Buddy's spirits.
Buddy is a medium-sized dog who weighs 35 pounds. He is housebroken, friendly to all, and not anxious or destructive, and he would be an ideal companion for an owner who wants a calm, well-behaved, loving, and easy-to-be-with friend. He enjoys sitting for caresses, eating his dinner, and stopping to smell the roses.
Nothing would make Buddy happier than to have a new home for the holidays. Buddy is in good health, has been neutered, and is up to date with his vaccinations. His adoption donation is $50.
If you would like to meet Buddy, you can visit him at Animal Care & Control of NYC, 326 East 110th Street (between 1st and 2nd Avenues), New York, NY 10029. The shelter hours are 8:00 am to 8:00 pm and the adoption hours are noon to 7:00 pm, seven days a week.
