By the family

June 23, 2021: On June 16, 2021, we lost our beautiful mother, Adele (Obara) Geba, after a brief and courageous battle with ovarian cancer.

She was born in Szczecin, Poland on May 30, 1929, and immigrated to the US after World War II.  She married her dear husband, Walter S. Geba, on September 3,1955.  Together they raised three beautiful and accomplished children:  Walter Jr., Richard (predeceased 1988) and Elena.

Adele had a successful career in fine jewelry with Marcus and Co., in New York all while being the consummate hostess; she loved to cook and entertain family and friends.  Her smile and charm radiated in everything she did.  She carried herself with elegance and grace in all facets of her life. Adele was a fierce champion of her three children and her three precious granddaughters, who brought her boundless joy.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her son Richard Geba, and brother Edward Obara.  She is survived by her son Walter Geba Jr. (Karla) of Pleasantville, NY; and daughter Elena Geba of Yonkers, NY.  She leaves behind 3 granddaughters: Katie Geba, Crissi Geba and Caroline Geba. Other survivors include her sister, three brothers, and numerous nieces and nephews.
