Nov. 27, 2024: Benji was featured as pet of the week in April of 2023 and has made great progress since then!
Last April, he was a scared little terrier mix who could barely handle being around people. Today, he's an entirely different dog.
This 10-pound wire-haired terrier now actively seeks attention and affection, a completely different dog from the timid pup who came from a hoarding situation. You'll find him curled up in his foster mom's lap or giving gentle kisses to visitors. He's even discovered a love for belly rubs and has become quite the cuddly dog.
While he's still working on leash training and will need time to adjust to a new environment, Benji has shown that he has so much love to give.
He would do best in a quieter home without children, or with older, mature children, where he can continue to build his confidence at his own pace.
This little guy has worked so hard to overcome his fears, and now he's ready to become someone's beloved companion.
If you have room in your heart and home for a sweet, resilient dog who will appreciate your patience and reward you with endless affection, Benji might be perfect for you.
