Brooklyn Meets Bronxville: Jansen Hospice Stirs Up a Night to Remember: See Photos

Nov. 26, 2025: Jansen Hospice and Palliative Care hosted its annual What’s Cooking Charity Event on Wednesday, October 29th at the Siwanoy Country Club, and this year’s celebration delivered a fresh and unexpected twist. The evening was co-chaired by Jansen Board Members Katherine Outcalt, Sara Kenny, Susan Freshe, and Whitney Stearns, who set out to create something new, vibrant, and entirely different for this year’s fundraiser.
Embracing the theme “What’s Cooking in Brooklyn,” the committee transformed the Siwanoy venue with an energetic Brooklyn-bar vibe that delighted guests from the moment they arrived.
The night’s headliner was Ivy Mix—Brooklyn-based award-winning mixologist, author, and restaurateur. Ivy and four of her top mixologists kept guests entertained with live cocktail demonstrations, spirited storytelling, and bespoke drinks inspired by the diverse neighborhoods and cultures of Brooklyn. Signature creations like The Williamburger, The Brighton Beach Whisper, and The Bushwick Blast were just a few of the standout cocktails mixed throughout the evening.
Guests also enjoyed a playful culinary journey through Brooklyn, featuring elevated bar bites including Nathan’s Famous hot dogs, Junior’s cheesecake, Brooklyn-style wings, pizza, and more.
To complete the authentic Brooklyn atmosphere, DJ Ramses Montero, one of the borough’s well-known vinyl DJs, spun an eclectic mix of records that blended nostalgia with contemporary cool.
Jansen Board Chair Emily Liggitt welcomed attendees and highlighted the new programs and staff that donor support has helped fund at Jansen Hospice. She thanked guests for coming together for a fun-filled Brooklyn night in support of an organization that plays such an important role in the community.
