Jan. 30, 2024: Lia Gravier, Bronxville resident, is a well-known name to many of us in this community and beyond.
You might know her from any number of roles she has filled in her 14 years here in town; from the Board of the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library, to President of the Bronxville School PTA, she has served the community in Every Day and Every Stage, which coincidentally, is the theme of The Counseling Center’s Spring Gala, honoring, you guessed it—Lia!

The Counseling Center ("TCC") is a nonprofit organization that’s staffed by a wonderful group of mental health care professionals in clinical practice who serve lower Westchester and the Bronx. The offices are located in the Reformed Church of Bronxville (though they are not affiliated).
This year’s gala will take place on Friday, March 14th, at Siwanoy Country Club and seeks to raise funding to subsidize services for those who need mental health care but who cannot afford it.
The Counseling Center offers a bespoke process that finds individuals the right therapy, including marriage counseling, family and child therapy and individualized counseling, through a personalized intake. Then, TCC takes on the task of working within the patient’s budget with a sliding scale that begins with zero.
Lia embodies the spirit of inclusion, support, and positivity The Counseling Center lives and breathes,” explains The Counseling Center Executive Director Virgil Roberson,L.P.,M.Div.,NCPsyA, “Known for her willingness to dig in and do the hard work, Lia has helped many residents—both adults and children—embrace their differences, needs, and strengths to succeed.”
And succeed they do! Lia was the long-standing co-chair of the BOLD (Bronxville Organization for Learning Differences) Council and this work has been closest to her heart.
She has helped tackle issues including anxiety and ADHD, educating and removing stigma to issues that affect many of our kids. “Creating community and a sense of belonging has always been my priority.”
Events like the BOLD College Transition Alumni Panel were created to offer students the opportunity to hear from recent graduates what is like to navigate resources and services in college. Lia also started the DEI committee for the Bronxville School PTA in 2020 which hosts the annual International Fair.
TCC’s 54th Annual Gala promises to be a fun evening with dinner, music, and a themed-live auction. Items to bid on include a to-die-for house in the mountains, a Neiman Marcus shopping spree, an exclusive museum experience, and more!
The Center expresses its enormous gratitude to the generous benefactors, underwriters, and sponsors of this year’s Gala—including a group of Lia fans and friends who helped underwrite the event.
