Local Covid Report: Another Week of Declining Cases

May 5, 2021: The local Covid-19 numbers declined again this week and, as of May 3, 2021, there were 8 cases in Bronxville in the last 14 days and a total of 656 cases in Bronxville and nearby towns. These numbers are down significantly from the 2021 high point in January. Click here to view the Westchester Covid-19 tracker.
Governor Cuomo reported that as of May 5, 2021, 46.9 percent of New Yorkers had completed at least one vaccine dose and 35.7 percent of New Yorkers had completed their vaccine series. In Westchester County, 53.1 percent of the population has completed at least one vaccine dose.

Hospitalizations & Deaths
As of May 3, 2021, there were 2,575 COVID-19 hospitalizations in New York State. There were 624 patients in ICU on May 3rd and of them, 381 were intubated. Sadly, 39 New Yorkers lost their lives to the virus on May 3, 2021. The 7-day average positivity rate was 1.76 percent.
