Local Covid Report: Local Cases Continue to Fall; Arts & Entertainment Slowly Starting to Open

Apr. 21, 2021: The local Covid-19 numbers continued to decline this week. As of April 18, 2021, there were 14 cases in Bronxville. There are still a total of 1,310 cases in Bronxville and nearby towns, including Yonkers, Mount Vernon, Eastchester and Tuckahoe. Click here to view the Westchester Covid-19 tracker.
School News
According to the most recent data on the New York State Covid-19 Schools Report Card, which is as of April 19, 2021, there have been no new cases in the Bronxville School in the past seven days. View the NY State School Covid-19 Report Card here
Vaccination News
According to the New York State Covid-19 tracker, as of April 19, 2021, 41.7% of the New York population and 47.4% of Westchester residents had received at least 1 dose of the vaccine.

Arts and Entertainment
Governor Cuomo announced that on April 26, movie theater capacity will increase to 33 percent and low-risk indoor and outdoor arts and entertainment—including museums, aquariums, zoos and botanical gardens—will increase to 50 percent capacity. On May 19, spectator capacity will increase to 25 percent at large-scale arenas and event venues, including professional and collegiate sports, and major performances. Social distancing, masks, health screenings and all other health and safety protocols remain in effect.
Hospitalizations & Deaths
As of April 18, 2021, there were 3,748 COVID hospitalizations in New York State. The 7-day average positivity rate was 2.85 percent. There were 836 patients in ICU on April 17 and of them, 521 were intubated. Sadly, 44 New Yorkers lost their lives to the virus on April 17, 2021.

Iona Family Therapy Center
The Iona Family Therapy Center (IFTC) is a non-profit center which has been in operation for over 40 years. While the IFTC has traditionally been located in the heart of New Rochelle, NY, the Center has moved to Iona's new Bronxville Campus as of August 2023.
Therapists at the IFTC are graduate students from the Iona University Marriage and Family Therapy program. Therapists-in-training are supervised by Iona faculty who are Ph.D. and Master's level Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists and Clinical Members and Approved Supervisors of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT).
