Bronxville School Welcomes New Teachers and Psychology Interns

Pictured: New Teachers at the Bronxville School

Sept. 11, 2024: The Bronxville School welcomed new faculty members and interns during a two-day orientation, held Aug. 27-28. They met with administrators and curriculum leaders to discuss policies before stepping into their new roles for the school year.

The School also welcomed 11 psychology interns (masters degree level) and externs (doctoral level). The interns work full-time and the externs work two days per week. The interns come from from Teachers College, Columbia University and Yeshiva University, to name a few.

According to Superintendent of Schools Dr. Rachel Kelly, the school has been receiving psychology interns and externs since the 2007-2008 school year.  The school started the program as a pilot program with only two interns and has now grown to as many as 11.

Professional Staff Development Coordinator Dana Landesman and Mentor Coordinator Toby Gillen introduced the new hires before administrators welcomed them as members of the school community.

Dr. Rachel Kelly and Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction Ann Meyer discussed district’s vision for moving the Bronxville Promise forward. As part of the program, the group also received tours of the building, participated in a scavenger hunt in the Village of Bronxville and completed their orientation with additional meetings with their supervisors, mentors and curriculum leaders.
