Tutoring Can Provide Academic Support For Your Student During These Unusual Times

By Sarah Loder, Prep Academy Tutors of Westchester

Aug. 19, 2020: Can you believe it's mid-August? The first day of school is just three weeks away!

The Bronxville School will open on September 8th.  Students in kindergarten through 8th grade will attend in person.  Students in the high school will attend in-person for half of the day and remotely for half of the day.  Parents were given the choice to have their students opt out of in-person learning if they thought it was best.

During these unusual times, students, particularly those doing remote learning, can benefit from extra academic support. Remote learning can be challenging for some students. For example, it can require students to be especially attentive in absorbing the class material, as well as being more organized and diligent in doing assignments and preparing for tests.

Tutoring, whether one-on-one or in a small group, can provide busy families with the support they need to help their children achieve academic success in these unusual times.  Tutors can help students master the class material, prepare for tests, and be organized for success.  Tutors, particularly highly qualified teachers, can also provide added enrichment materials to provide additional context for what the student is learning in class.

So, when putting together your student's schedule this year, you may want to consider reaching out to a tutor to support them during these highly unusual times.
