Feb. 5, 2014: Concordia College has announced the appointment of Rev. Dr. Joshua Hollmann as campus chaplain and assistant professor of religion. In this new appointment, he will be actively promoting the Christian identity and tradition of the college through daily chapel service and ministry to students and will be implementing creative opportunities for student service learning. In addition, Dr. Hollmann will continue to teach religion courses at Concordia.
"The addition of Dr. Hollmann to our campus community will expand and deepen the impact Concordia has on its students," said Dean Sherry Fraser. "His knowledge and international experience provide the kind of diversity of thought we seek for our students and is one of the college's core competencies expected of its graduates. Bridging academic and campus life is at the heart of the Concordia experience. We are very happy to welcome Dr. Hollmann as a key partner in this mission"”
Rev. Dr. Joshua Hollmann received a BA from Valparaiso University, an MDiv from Concordia Seminary-St. Louis, and a PhD from McGill University. He also studied at Hangzhou University, Westfield House Seminary, and the University of Cambridge.
Hollmann's background includes teaching at colleges and seminaries in Turkey, India, and Sudan, pastoring a multicultural Lutheran congregation in Montreal, and currently serving as a pastor in New York City.
In addition, he has conducted research in Germany and the Vatican Library and presented papers at meetings of the International Congress on Medieval Studies, the American Academy of Religion, The Renaissance Society of America, and the International Thomas Merton Society.
Dr. Hollmann is also a recipient of the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada's doctoral research fellowship.
"We welcome Pastor Hollmann's expanded role as campus chaplain. His ability to reach students of all backgrounds will no doubt make a difference in our campus spiritual life and service learning initiatives," said Chris Koutsovitis, associate dean for student development.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
