By North Callahan, Jr., Senior Director of Marketing, Concordia College
Aug. 19, 2015: James B. Bunn has been appointed vice president for institutional advancement at Concordia College. Bunn will provide strategic direction for the college's alumni and church relations areas, fundraising initiatives, and community programs.
Jim brings his leadership, energy, enthusiasm, and an impressive record of success in business, community service, and church activities wherever he and his wife, Jackie, have lived. The Bunn family resided in Bronxville for 23 years until last month, having relocated to Tuckahoe
Bunn's accomplishments include executive and chief marketing officer positions with global brands, recognition from the Special Olympics for an event he helped to create and execute, and initiation of a building fund drive to expand a sanctuary, procure a new organ, and double the size of the parish school of the church where he and his family were active members.
"God's blessing and benevolence of friends have kept Concordia focused on its mission to provide a quality education and a ladder of social mobility to many who need access to affordable higher education," said Dr. Viji George, president of Concordia.
U.S. News & World Report’s Best Colleges issue has ranked Concordia the fifth most diverse campus in the North Region. In keeping with its mission to serve a diverse student body, Concordia invests heavily to help make the "Concordia Experience" available to students who can least afford it.
"We need to become more adept in telling the Concordia story to our broader audience and I believe that Jim Bunn in an exceptional choice to do just that," said Dr. George. "For more than a century, Concordia has been offering a solid faith-based educational experience that has transformed lives for service to others. His role as vice president of institutional advancement will be one of reaching out, informing, sharing, and more throughout the community and the beyond."
"I am truly excited about this opportunity to bring my marketing and business skills to bear in advancing the mission and ministry of Concordia. Colleges like this serve such a vital role in forming and strengthening our future," said Bunn, as he prepares to join the Concordia family this month.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
