Feb. 1, 2017: Concordia College’s Division of Nursing proudly announces that the program ranks among the top five baccalaureate nursing programs in New York State for first-time pass rate on the test for the licensing of nurses. The test is known as the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX).
Concordia’s first-time pass rate of 95% is significantly higher than the average pass rate of 83% for baccalaureate graduates in New York State and the national average of 85%.
“We are so proud of our nursing graduates’ achievement on the NCLEX and welcome them to the nursing profession,” said Dr. Kathleen Flaherty, Concordia College dean of nursing. “This is a testament to our excellent students, faculty, staff, and Concordia community. We are so grateful to everyone that contributed to this success!”
Since the launch of the post-baccalaureate nursing degree program in 2008, Concordia has expanded its offerings to include a traditional undergraduate, and an RN-to-BS degree completion program.
“Our nurses do so much more than protect and promote health,” stated Concordia College president, Rev. John A. Nunes. “They bind up the broken-hearted and heal their wounds. We’re so proud of their outstanding NCLEX achievement and look forward to the BIG impact our nurses will make on all the lives they touch.”

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
