Have You Noticed Landscaping Underway at the Bronxville School?

By Staff

May 2, 2024: Have you noticed landscaping underway at the Bronxville School?

According to Susan Conniff, President of the Bronxville School Board, the Bronxville School has formed a beautification committee that has been working on a plan for several landscaping improvements for the school.

The committee is chaired by Assistant Superintendent Dr. Mara Koetke and members include Superintendent Dr. Rachel Kelly, school board member and facilities committee chair Edward Lennon, board member Sara Kenny, former PTA president Amy Krause and current PTA president Deirdre Breen Doheny.

The first phase of the plan, which you likely noticed underway last week, involved restoration of a hedge around the front Pondfield Road perimeter of the school.

The new hedge is set back from the original perimeter in order to accommodate installation of a wider and safer sidewalk, which will be part of a later phase.

The Bronxville School PTA has generously committed funding for this first phase of the plan.

MyhometownBronxville will report on later phases of the beautification implementation as they happen.

The Bronxville Green Committee

The Bronxville Green Committee is a volunteer organization under Village government.  We work with the Trustees and Village staff on programs that promote clean energy initiatives and sustainable ways of living. Our programs include The Bronxville Giving Garden, a community garden whose produce is donated to local groups; Take Back Day, when we collect items to be recycled; and Pollinator Pathways, which encourages adding native plants to our gardens. We believe everyone can make a difference by adopting simple, sustainable practices in daily life so we can work together to protect what we love -- our families, our homes and our town.
