June 18, 2025: At the annual sports awards evening held on June 10th, Bronxville athletes were celebrated for their outstanding accomplishments during the spring season. A remarkable 58 athletes earned All-League recognition, and 13 were named All-Section or All-Section, second team.
The Bronxville lacrosse teams had standout seasons facing top competition from across the section and the state. The boys’ team won the Class D Sectional Championship with an overtime win over Pleasantville, while the girls’ team ended its season as sectional runner-up after losing to a strong Pleasantville team. Both teams ended the season ranked No. 6 in New York State according to laxnumbers.com.
The boys’ and girls’ track and field teams both claimed League and Sectional Championships this spring, breaking several school records along the way.
-Juliet Winiecki, 400m hurdles, finished 5th in Class B, 1:05.17
-Kieran McBride, 3000m steeplechase, finished 2nd in Class B and 7th overall, 9:28.74
-Girls’ 4x400m relay (Kara Kochansky, Eva Mihova, Ella McCalla, and Juliet Winiecki), finished 5th in Class B, 4:02.45
-Boys’ 4x400m relay (Davis Patterson, Grant Patterson, Spencer Martin, and Javier Tomala-Reidel) finished 7th in Class B, 3:26.15
-Girls' 4x800m relay (Emerson Dennis, Finley Rowan, Ella McCalla, and Jessica O'Gorman), ran 9:31.25 and finished 5th in Class B (and 18th overall).
-Boys' 4x800m relay (Caspar Smith, Julian Gonzalez, William Hogue, and Kieran McBride) ran 7:59.62 and finished 4th in Class B (and 13th overall).
Jackson Fino represented Bronxville in tennis at the state championships after a strong performance in the Section 1 tournament. At states, he advanced in the first round and lost in the round of 16.
The Bronxville School fielded its first official varsity girls’ flag football team this spring. After joining forces with Irvington in 2024, the growing popularity of the sport led to a Bronxville stand-alone team in 2025. With football coach Patsy Manganelli at the helm, the Broncos finished the season with an 8-5-1 record and advanced to the sectional semifinals before falling to Ardsley.
“Coming into this season I did not know what to expect,” said Manganelli. “It wasn’t the plan to coach this spring, but I'm so glad I did. I can honestly say it has been the best experience. It is hard to explain the energy, the effort, the spirit, and fun the girls bring to every practice and every game –win or lose.”
At the end of each school year, it is a Bronxville tradition to recognize two seniors for their athletic skill, sportsmanship, and leadership. Wyatt Gravier, captain of the football team and State Champion in the 110m hurdles, was honored with the Lou Brinsmade award, while Kalliroi Ladas, team MVP of the girls’ soccer team and captain of both the soccer and basketball teams, received the Virginia Landis award.
