Broncos Gear Up for a Busy Week After Returning from Spring Break

April 23, 2025: The Bronxville School returned from spring break on Tuesday and faces a jam-packed schedule in the upcoming week. The track and field teams are hosting Tuckahoe in a dual meet today at Chambers Field, and the baseball team, who lost 3-0 to Rye on Monday, will play Rye again today at Scout Field. The 5-3 team has an intense schedule with six games in the next week and a half.

Three teams are competing off campus today. The boys’ golf team takes on Harrison at Siwanoy, the girls’ golf team faces Edgemont at Sunningdale Country Club, and the boys’ tennis team travels to Irvington.

Bronxville is competing in the wildly popular girls’ flag football league, which was started as pilot program in Section 1 in 2022. There are 33 teams overall, and the Broncos compete in Class C. The Broncos will play at Chambers Field twice this week facing Mamaroneck on Thursday and Irvington on Saturday morning.

Coming up this week are two big track meets, the Penn Relays in Philadelphia and the Gold Rush Invitational in West Nyack. The Penn Relays, held on Thursday and Friday, are the oldest and largest track and field competition in the US.

Bronxville will send four relay teams to compete at Franklin Field on the campus of the University of Pennsylvania. On Thursday, the boys’ 4x800m relay (Kieran McBride, Julian Gonzalez, Will Hogue, Matthew Jensen) will race at 9AM, followed by boys’ 4x400m relay (Davis Patterson, Javier Tomala-Reidel, Spencer Martin, Teo Valdes) at 3:57. The girls’ teams will compete on Friday, with the 4x800m relay (Emerson Dennis, Finlay Rowan, Cailtin Paisley, Jesse O'Gorman) racing at 9:23, and the 4x100m relay ( Kara Kochansky, Carson Kochansky, Juliet Winiecki, Eva Mihova) set to compete at 11:25.

Yesterday, the girls’ lacrosse team (5-4) defeated Mamaroneck 17-7 and will play two games away before returning to face Shoreham Wading River on Monday. The Broncos, seeded No. 6 in the LoHud Power Rankings, will play away at No. 5 Ursuline on Saturday.

Last week the boys’ lacrosse team had wins over Tappan Zee (12-10) and John Jay Cross River (7-1) bringing their record to 4-3. The team, ranked No. 8 in the LoHud Power Rankings, and will play No. 9 Pleasantville away on Thursday.
