Saturday Sweep for the Broncos: Baseball, Boys' Lacrosse, and Girls' Lacrosse Teams Win

Apr. 9, 2014: Saturday's sunny weather was a perfect setting for the Bronco teams and fans. The baseball team, the boys' lacrosse team, and the girls' lacrosse team all came out on top with solid victories.
With the music blaring at the newly renovated baseball field, the Broncos defeated Hastings 4-3. Jack Braumuller pitched the first four innings for Bronxville, giving up only one earned run and recording three strikeouts. Relief pitcher Parker Lapins came in at the top of the fifth and sealed the win with no earned runs and three strikeouts. The Broncos are 2-1 so far this season. Top performers at the plate include Graham Klimley, Joe Pepe, Tyler Schultz, John Seminara, and Lapins. The baseball team will host a tournament this weekend at Lower Scout Field. The Broncos will face Edgemont on Friday at 4:30 pm, and the championship and consolation games will be played on Saturday.
The girls' lacrosse team is off to an impressive start. In the game against Dobbs Ferry on Saturday, the girls outscored the Eagles 20-5. Ten different Bronco girls scored points for the team: Lily Grass (9), Gretchen Richter (8), Grace O'Toole (4), Helen Wood (4), Charlotte Reynolds (3), Mason Warble (2), Briana Alberghine (2), Caroline Cahaney (2), Taylor Sears (1), and Lucy Hanrahan (1). The Broncos are 4-0 so far this season and have outscored their opponents 67-23. The girls' team will play New Rochelle at home on Thursday at 4:30 pm.
The boys' lacrosse team faced neighboring Pelham on Saturday and walked away with a 17-0 win. Scoring points for the Broncos were Henry Grass (9), Will Duncan (7), Aidan Walsh (6), Ted Forst (3), and Ara Atayan (4). The Broncos faced some tough competitors at the start of the season, beating Mamaroneck in the opening game, but losing 13-10 to top-seeded Yorktown last week. The Broncos will play another top team this coming Saturday, Long Island's Garden City. The away game will start at noon.
