Bronxville Chamber of Commerce Launches BXV FOR BXV StrongerTogether Program This Week

Jul. 8, 2020: As we all know, Bronxville businesses have suffered immeasurable financial hardship from being closed for months during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have also incurred many additional costs to re-open and reconfigure their spaces to accommodate for new health and safety regulations, and the ongoing challenge of operating at below prime capacity levels.
As a follow-up to the recent BXV FOR BXV Merchant Loan Program, a new grassroots campaign to assist Bronxville’s merchants is being launched this week. Through a consortium led by the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and Village Hall, BXV FOR BXV StrongerTogether unites our community to directly help Bronxville businesses offset some of their incurred and future costs re-opening and reconfiguring for our new normal.
As background, a growing group of concerned citizens paired up with the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce and Village Hall and launched a Merchant Loan Program earlier this summer. Sixteen Downtown businesses took advantage of the almost zero percent borrowing in Part One of the Program, and we expect to launch the expanded Part Two Loan Program later this month (all Bronxville businesses are eligible except national chains).
This week the consortium has teamed up with additional community partners including The Rotary Club, New York-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville Beautification Council, Junior League of Bronxville and Bronxville Women’s Club, to help spread the word about BXV FOR BXV StrongerTogether, and reach out to the entire community to support our worthy Downtown merchants.
BXV FOR BXV StrongerTogether strives to capture 100% participation from our community - no donation is too small!
Funds raised will go to Bronxville businesses & future downtown events for items such as Outdoor Dining Spaces, Safety and Protection Efforts, Sanitation Stations, Protective Plexiglass Shields, and Downtown Beautification Efforts.
As Mayor Marvin said, “Our merchants are working so hard to survive in the new normal and retain Bronxville Village’s special charm. We are hoping this StrongerTogether campaign pulls the entire community together to help Downtown Bronxville not only survive but also thrive, through plain old-fashioned helping your neighbor! Because we are all in this together!”
Direct donations and the sale of tote bags and car magnets will be the fundraising conduits, and funds will be collected through the Bronxville Chamber of Commerce. Please click here to learn more and make a donation.
Because the Chamber is a 501(c)6 non-profit organization, donations will not be tax deductible, but will be much appreciated as a way to show your direct support to the merchants in town and the overall livelihood and health of our downtown Bronxville!
BXV FOR BXV StrongerTogether has also been a source of volunteer work for summer interns who have felt the negative employment effect of the COVID-19 pandemic. These volunteer interns will be helping spread the word in town over the next few weeks, showing their support of our great Village.
