Pet of the Week: Sweet Toasty Licious Seeking a Home After Living Outside

By Allison Roesser
Apr. 14, 2021: Toasty Licious is a medium size, orange and white, adult, domestic short hair that showed up at a cat colony in the Bronx.
He happily ate with the other cats, but in his spare time, he waited outside the feeders home, facing the front door and trying to run in whenever the door was opened.
After a couple of weeks inside, Toasty was calm and content to sleep in his big warm bed. His wonderful personality came shining through, and he found true joy in getting lots of pets and coos.
It is not known how long Toasty was living outside or how far he traveled, but it seems to have been quite a challenging journey for him. Toasty has slight paralysis to his face, likely from some type of trauma he received while living on the streets. We will never know exactly what happened to him, but we are sure glad he is now safe and receiving excellent care.
It may take a week or two in his new home for Toasty to trust and get past the urge to peek at you from behind the furniture, but food seems to be his driving motivator, and in no time at all this sweet and loving boy will become your BFF.
It is believed by his calm and measured nature that he would be great with older kids and possibly dogs. He likes other cats very much and could happily live with them, but would be just as pleased to be your one and only. Toasty cheerfully returns affection and is ready to continue the safe and warm life he somehow lost along the way.
