Pet of the Week: Chuck

By Allison Roesser
May 27, 2015: Remember that guy in high school who was friends with everyone but never actually got the girl? He was nice, funny, polite, and an all-around great person, but at the end of the day, he sat quietly by while everyone else around him found love . . . well, that's Chuck.
This amazing dog, for no apparent reason, seems to keep getting overlooked. So I'm here to tell you that if you would just take a moment to get to know him you would quickly realize that Chuck is no ordinary dog. Not only is he handsome and charming, he is as smart as a whip and as gentle as they come.
This sweet boy will carefully take treats out of your hand when offered and loyally follow you around anticipating your every move. He is always happy, perfectly behaved, and most definitely up for anything. Chuck loves all people and all dogs, not to mention he is completely housebroken. From head to tail, this devoted pooch is the perfect family dog!
Chuck seems to understand that many families want cute little puppies, and he even seems genuinely happy when he sees his foster friends find home after home. But we know that deep down he is thinking, "When will it be my turn? When will somebody love me?"
What's important to remember about Chuck is that now that he is two years old, he is out of the rambunctious, chewing puppy stage and into the easy-to-handle/fun-to-hangout-with stage. He is already fully grown and, at 55 pounds, he is the perfect medium-sized dog. With Chuck, you know what you are getting . . . and it's all good!
Chuck has been waiting a long time to make a commitment; now all he needs is someone to finally take a chance on him. This boy is ready to make you the love of his life, and once you do, you, too, will understand why this one's a keeper.
If you would like more information or would like to meet Chuck, please visit the Pet Rescue website at www.NY-PetRescue.org. The adoption donation for Chuck is $250. Isn't it time to give Chuck's story a happy ending?
