Pet of the Week: Beenz and Bella

By Allison Roesser
Oct. 26, 2016: Meet Beenz and Bella. They are both small, adult shitzu/poodle mixes who are best buddies.
They were brought to the Humane Society of Westchester by their former family, which was no longer able to care for them properly. They were unhappy to let them go but wanted them to find a home that could give them what they could not.
When Beenz and Bella first arrived at the shelter, they were very sad, but lately they are appearing to be more hopeful that a forever family is in their near future.
They are both gentle, easygoing dogs who are able to take life as it comes. These mellow, housebroken, low-maintenance pups do not require long walks or constant exercise. They prefer to spend their days hanging out by your feet and keeping you company.
Beenz and Bella have so much love to give and want nothing more than to find the companionship of a family again.
They are in excellent health, up to date with vaccinations, and ready for immediate adoption.
Please come and meet them today at the Humane Society of Westchester. The shelter is just ten minutes from Bronxville at 70 Portman Road, New Rochelle. The shelter is open seven days a week from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, except Thursdays, when it is open from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
If you would like more information about how to adopt them, please contact the shelter at
