Letter to the Editor in Support of Gordon Burrows for County Legislator

To the Editor:
Oct. 30, 2019: If you haven’t already voted early, I’m urging the good people of Bronxville to support Gordon Burrows for County Legislator.
Despite the Democratic supermajority, Gordon has worked quietly and diligently on behalf of Bronxville, consistently voting to lower taxes, secure funding for flood
mitigation and grants for our Seniors, and vigorously defend ‘Home Rule.’
Let us not forget the notorious Affordable Housing Judgement foisted upon us by Andy Spano, a judgment that could have bankrupted our community, and would have
irreparably damaged the character of the Village, with no height restrictions and subsidized housing. It required the legal acumen to walk that fine line so as not
to draw us into costly litigation, exposing the Village to insolvency. Despite pushback from his Democrat colleagues, Gordon had seen and experienced what these
judgments did to Yonkers and did not want it repeated here.
Gordon also worked to set aside an additional $12 million to complete dredging down the Bronx River. Flood mitigation is costly and fraught with complex regulatory
impediments. Gordon is successfully navigating these issues on our behalf. He is keenly aware of, and appreciates the demographic makeup of Bronxville,
regularly securing funding for our senior population. Without grandstanding or fanfare, he is purposely below the radar, just doing the work that needs to be done on our behalf.
Your support for Gordon Burrows is the right choice for Bronxville.
Thank you
René Atayan
