Nov. 6, 2013: Artist Amy Unfried, a former Bronxville resident, will speak on Sunday, November 10, at 3:30 pm in the OSilas Gallery at Concordia College.
An exhibition of her recent bronze work is also on display in the OSilas Window Gallery.
In conjunction with the exhibit The Bronze Age: Rodin & the Methods of a Master, which features an Auguste Rodin portrait sculpture on loan from the Iris & B. Gerald Cantor Foundation, Unfried's sculpture lends a contemporary perspective to lost-wax bronze casting.
Her organic sculptures showcase the versatility of the lost-wax bronze casting process and its use in today's artistic landscape. Her exhibition also includes step-by-step examples of her unique use of lost-wax bronze casting and will educate visitors on the similarities and differences between the past and present iterations of this process.
Reservations are suggested. Please call 914-337-9300, ext. 2262.
