Bronxville Career Network to Hold Meeting on 'What's All the Hype about Skype?' Wednesday, April 23

Apr. 9, 2014:   Computer expert Pierre Darmon will discuss everything you've always wanted to know about face-to-face communication using Skype at the next meeting of the Bronxville Career Network (BCN) on Wednesday, April 23, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Reformed Church of Bronxville.

BCN meetings are open to all and are held on the fourth Wednesday of the month in the Edwards Room. Networking opportunities are available from 7:00 pm to 7:30 pm.

Key discussion points at the meeting will be:

  • How to install Skype and adjust settings for usability and security

  • Using Skype to reduce costly phone bills

  • Using Skype to your best advantage (audio/video calls, group calls, screen sharing)

Dr. Pierre Darmon, PC solutions and education consultant, IT solutions architect, and project manager, has over 30 years of experience with computers and operating systems. He held senior positions at IBM for 23 years and is currently content manager at SDI International, consulting for IBM.

His areas of special expertise are PC installation, software, hardware, security, networking, software architecture, and solutions development. He serves as co-chair of the Westchester Project Managers Job Club.

Founded four years ago, the 300-member Bronxville Career Network is a volunteer-operated group offering networking and career and job search information and support to job seekers, career changers, and employed people interested in sharing career information or expertise.

A facilitated daytimers group also meets on the first Monday of each month at 9:30 am in the Copenhaver Room at The Reformed Church.
