Marilynn Wood Hill to be Honored at 17th Annual Historic Dinner on May 8, 2021

By Staff

Apr. 28, 2021:  On Saturday, May 8, 2021, Bronxville's own Marilynn Wood Hill, Ph.D. will be honored in a virtual commemoration of the 19th (woman suffrage) amendment at the 17th Annual Historic dinner benefiting the public programs of St. Paul's Church National Historic Site in Mount Vernon.

The program will feature talks, re-enactments and musical performances that help to commemorate this landmark event in American history and acknowledge the outstanding contributions of the event's honoree.

Dr. Hill is being honored for her long tenure of distinguished scholarship, community service and educational outreach. The impressive range of her publications include Their Sisters’ Keepers: Prostitution in New York City, 1830-1870 and Around Bronxville: Images of America.

Through her leadership in the Bronxville Historical Conservancy, Dr. Hill has created and directed innovative programs engaging local youngsters in their community’s history and organized annual public lectures by nationally prominent authors and scholars.

She has served on the Boards of the National Trust for Historic Preservation, the National Archives Foundation and the Harvard Schlesinger Library.

Perhaps most importantly, she values the documentation, preservation, and dissemination of information illustrating the important role of history in our community and in our nation.

If you would like to attend this virtual event on May 8th, tickets are $50 per person and the information is below.  Also, here is a link to St. Paul's Church in Mount Vernon.
