Oct. 3, 2018: The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe announced that it will be hosting its first-ever 3-on-3 basketball tournament for 8th- and 9th-graders on October 14 from 1:00 to 5:00 pm at the Main Street Courts in Tuckahoe.

Dave Scalzo, campaign co-chair and basketball tournament chair, stated, “For 99 years, The Community Fund has worked to improve the health and wellbeing of the residents of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe. Our annual campaign contributors love the fact that we've helped to refurbish the Eastchester Little League batting cages, the Tuckahoe Youth Association Backstops, and, of course, the Main Street Basketball Courts in Tuckahoe. These places attract children, parents, grandparents, and neighbors for friendly games that bring joy and build character. This year, we're proud to host a 3-on-3 basketball tournament at the Main Street Basketball Courts in Tuckahoe.

"It's a one-day event on Sunday, October 14, and is open to all 8th- and 9th-graders who reside in, or go to a school in, Eastchester, Tuckahoe, or Bronxville. We're expecting a big turn-out of both players and spectators who will get to enjoy good music, good food, good camaraderie, and, of course, good basketball.”

If you're an 8th- or 9th-grader, we encourage you to put together a team and come out to play against all your friends. It'll be a fun community-wide event.

For 99 years, The Community Fund has been supporting agencies and community programs that provide services to residents of the Bronxville 10708, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe (BET) area, including family initiatives, including cancer support groups, bereavement counseling, and drug and alcohol counseling services; senior living assistance, including escorts for transportation, housecleaning services, shopping assistance, and recreational programs; youth support, including after-school programs, teen scene activities, summer enrichment programs, and drug and substance abuse education in BET schools; and health care funding, including free flu shots in partnership with NewYork-Presbyterian Lawrence Hospital and the funding for state-of-the-art ambulances for Eastchester Volunteer Ambulance Corps (EVAC), the primary ambulance provider in our area.
