Friends of the Bronxville Library Launches 2020 Annual Appeal and J.McLaughlin Shopping Event

Nov. 18, 2020: The Friends of the Bronxville Public Library(FOBPL) Board commenced its annual fundraising campaign on November 1, 2020, in what has been a particularly challenging year. Who could have known the staggering impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has caused so many of us to lose our human connection to friends and community and prohibited visits to beloved institutions, such as our Library?

The Library has safely reopened, and it is through donations like yours that we have been able to move all programming online, continuing to provide our community with wonderful resources. Donations to the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library (FOBPL) allow us to fund:

-OverDrive digital content (ebooks and audiobooks) anytime, anywhere.

-Technology: Kindles, E-Readers, and laptops.

-Year-round funding of the children, young adult, and adult programs.

-The Museum Pass Program for 10 area museums, including the MoMA, among others.

-New York Times digital research archives, providing access to over 13 million articles from 1851-present.

-Restoration of the Library’s art collection.

-Special projects beyond the reach of the library budget.

In addition, the Friends Board is hosting a shopping event with Bronxville’s J.McLaughlin store on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5, 2020, 10 AM – 5 PM. Customers can shop in-store or virtually. 

J.McLaughlin will provide curbside pickup, complimentary shipping, and festive gift wrap.
